Backyard Liberty is a guide created by Alec Deacon, which is intended to help anyone set up their own aquaponic, sustainable gardening system for the purposes of creating and maintaining long term food stores.

Aquaponics is a system is a combination of traditional hydroponics and fish farming, which can produce large quantities of food using a very small area. It is becoming popular in sustainable gardening practices and there are universities and centers who are beginning to offer training and classes in this type of gardening.

According to the video presentation on Backyard Liberty, aquaponics will soon play an important role in the United States, because we are on the verge of a “social and economic collapse” which will occur sometime within the next 18 months.
